WRIS Employee Showcase: Frank Alvarez, Senior Developer

Meet one of our Senior Developers, Frank Alvarez, a computer enthusiast whose love affair with technology began the day he and his brother unwrapped their first computer. From the limited computer-related classes in school to earning a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from William Paterson University, Frank's journey has been fueled by a passion for problem-solving.

His foray into the world of ColdFusion began at a small online credentialing management company, where he initially served as an office manager. Little did he know that an opportunity to join the development department would kickstart a long and fulfilling career. The joy of finding solutions and building tools to streamline processes keeps his interest alive, making each day a rewarding experience.

Working remotely from his home office in northern New Jersey, Frank enjoys the camaraderie of a team spread out across the country. Even while in a quiet space he never feels alone with a team ready and willing to step in to help. The WRIS 100% remote setup gave him back the 60-90 minute commute and more time in his day.

Beyond the digital realm, Frank's creative side shines through his 3D printing hobby, whether that be tinkering with his printers or contributing to his local community. After joining a group of like-minded people, he printed much needed face shields for healthcare providers at a time when supply was low and demand was high. He turned a simple pastime into a meaningful contribution, demonstrating the power of technology in making a positive impact!
